Along the way, you’ll pass through lush tea plantations, rolling hills, and rural villages. After arriving, check in at your lodge and relax before the next day’s chimpanzee trekking experience.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest

Kibale Forest is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees, making it the best place in Uganda to track these intelligent primates. The trek begins early in the morning, led by experienced rangers who guide you through the dense forest in search of the chimps. Once found, you’ll spend an hour observing their social interactions. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you can spot more primates and colorful bird species.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today, you’ll head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse ecosystems. During your drive, you’ll have the chance to spot wildlife along the way. In the Ishasha sector, look out for the famous tree-climbing lions lounging in fig trees.

Day 5: Safari Game Drive and Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel

Start your day with a thrilling game drive, searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species along the waterbanks.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – The Gorilla Haven

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. The drive is filled with breathtaking scenery, including rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and mist-covered mountains. Upon arrival, settle in at your lodge and prepare for the highlight of your safari—gorilla trekking.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Gorilla trekking is an experience like no other. After a briefing from the park rangers, you’ll hike through dense jungle terrain in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once found, you’ll have a magical one-hour encounter with these gentle giants, observing their behavior and interactions. In the afternoon, you may opt for a cultural visit to the Batwa community to learn about their traditions.

Day 8: Return to Entebbe and Departure

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a scenic drive back to Entebbe. Depending on your flight schedule, you can visit local markets or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre before catching your flight home.
