Day 1: Arrive in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where our office representative will meet you and transfer you to your selected lodge in Arusha for check-in and relaxation. You will receive a briefing about your 11 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar adventure that begins the next day.

Day 2: Drive to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes approximately two hours to reach the park entry gate. Tarangire is well known as the "home of elephants." The game drive starts from the main gate, where you will spot impalas, giraffes, zebras, and more. Your guide will lead you to the Tarangire River where large herds of elephants are commonly seen. Proceed with the game drive until afternoon, when you stop for lunch at a scenic picnic site overlooking the Tarangire River. Continue with an afternoon game drive before driving to Karatu for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour / Drive to Serengeti

Have an early breakfast, then proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater and check in at the gate. Descend 600 meters to the crater floor — a self-dependent ecosystem home to carnivores, antelopes, and herbivores. If lucky, you may see the Big Five in Ngorongoro: lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. At Magadi Lake, several waterbirds are found including beautiful flamingoes, herons, and pelicans. The Lerai Forest is home to baboons, monkeys, elephants, bushbucks, waterbucks, and leopards. The crater floor covers 260 square kilometers, and the Munge River is the source of fresh water in the area.

You will also find swamps here and can see hippos and grazing animals in the open areas. Enjoy lunch at the picnic site where you can see hippos up close. After lunch, go on an en-route game drive as you ascend the crater and drive to Serengeti.

Day 4 & 5: Full Day Serengeti North for Migration

Today you will have a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti to search for the rest of the Big Five and other animals. Serengeti National Park is a vast park of almost 15,000 square kilometers. Every side of the park has its seasonal visitors, depending on the time of year and the migration of animals. We stay in Central Serengeti, a popular area because of its resident animals. Your full-day game drive allows you to view different animals and their habits. You can arrange with your driver-guide to either have a picnic lunch or a hot lunch back at camp. Continue with your afternoon game drive until evening when you return to your lodge for overnight. This is the perfect opportunity to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration Tanzania in action.

Day 6: Full Day Serengeti Central

After an early breakfast, go on a game drive until the afternoon. Serengeti is well-known for its endless plains and abundance of carnivores such as hyena, lion, leopard, jackal, and cheetah. Rock formations found in the area are home to different animals like hyrax, lion, and even leopard. In the afternoon, enjoy your picnic lunch, then have an en-route game drive through the Ngorongoro area back to your lodge in Karatu town for overnight.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive Serengeti to Ngorongoro

After lunch, drive to Ngorongoro/Karatu for overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Airport – Fly to Zanzibar

A driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight. Depending on your flight time, you may add another tour for an additional cost before heading to the airport. We can also extend your stay on the island as our tours are fully customizable. Your 11 Days Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar adventure comes to an end.
