Day 1: Arrival in Arusha & Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Your 5-day migration safari begins with your arrival at Arusha Airport, the gateway to Tanzania’s most famous safari regions. You’ll be met by your guide and transferred to Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The journey to Ngorongoro takes about 3-4 hours, and along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic views of the Great Rift Valley and the lush Tanzanian countryside.

Upon arrival at your luxury lodge or tented camp near the crater, enjoy a relaxing evening with stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. Depending on your arrival time, you may also have the chance to explore the area or enjoy an early evening game drive around the crater rim.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater Full-Day Game Drive

On Day 2, prepare for an exhilarating full-day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations in the world. This massive volcanic caldera, often referred to as the “Garden of Eden,” is home to an incredible array of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros). The crater floor is rich in wildlife, and the dense vegetation, grasslands, and wetlands make for diverse ecosystems.

You’ll have the opportunity to spot not only the Big Five but also a variety of other animals, such as zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and flamingos. Ngorongoro Crater offers a truly unique safari experience, with a chance to witness both predators and prey in a dramatic and intimate setting.

In the evening, return to your lodge or camp for a relaxing dinner and a good night’s rest after an action-packed day.

Day 3: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

On Day 3, you’ll leave the Ngorongoro Crater behind and head to the legendary Serengeti National Park. The drive from Ngorongoro to Serengeti takes about 3-4 hours, but the journey is filled with stunning views of the African savannah, dotted with acacia trees and open plains.

Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you’ll embark on an exciting afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is known for its vast plains, incredible wildlife, and, of course, the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles migrate in search of fresh grazing grounds.

As you explore the Serengeti, your expert guide will take you to prime wildlife viewing areas, giving you the best opportunity to witness the migration up close, as well as the predators that follow in pursuit.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Full-Day Game Drive & Migration Viewing

Day 4 is dedicated to a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park, where you’ll have the chance to explore deeper into the park’s vast landscapes. Your guide will take you to the best locations to witness the Great Migration (seasonal), where massive herds of wildebeests and zebras cross the plains in a dramatic display of nature.

If you visit during the migration season, you may also witness river crossings, where wildebeests must navigate crocodile-infested waters in a thrilling spectacle. Serengeti is also home to predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, so you’ll have the chance to see thrilling predator-prey interactions.

In the evening, return to your lodge or tented camp, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing dinner and a night under the African stars.

Day 5: Serengeti to Arusha – Morning Game Drive & Departure

On your final day, you’ll enjoy an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, taking advantage of the cooler morning hours to spot wildlife in action. This is the best time to see predators hunting and animals feeding.

After your morning game drive, you’ll return to your lodge for breakfast before making your way back to Arusha. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, offering one last chance to enjoy the stunning Tanzanian landscapes. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward flight or hotel in Arusha for your departure.
