Day 0: Arrival Day

On your arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport, you will meet the office representative and transfer to your lodge for an overnight stay before the 4-day midrange tour in Tanzania begins the next day.

Day 1: To Tarangire or Manyara

Depart from Arusha and drive to either Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park. It will take approximately two hours to reach the park entry gate.

• Tarangire Option:
  • Tarangire is known for its elephants. The photography safari starts at the main gate, where you’ll see impalas, giraffes, zebras, and more. Your guide will lead you to the Tarangire River, commonly inhabited by elephants. Enjoy a game drive until the afternoon, followed by lunch at a picnic site overlooking the Tarangire River. Continue with an afternoon game drive before heading to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at Bougainvillea Lodge or similar.
• Lake Manyara Option:
  • At the entry gate, start by observing primates in the green forest. Lake Manyara is known for its tree-climbing lions. This photography safari will include sightings of giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and, if lucky, lions in trees. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the lake shore. Lake Manyara is great for bird watchers, with a variety of species. In the late evening, drive to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at Bougainvillea Lodge.

Day 2: To Serengeti via Ngorongoro

After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park with a packed lunch. It takes about an hour to reach the Ngorongoro entry gate. After stopping at the crater viewpoint for information, proceed to Serengeti with animal viewing along the way. It will take about 2.5 hours to reach the Ngorongoro exit gate, with a picnic lunch under a tree before proceeding. Enter Serengeti at the Naabi Hill gate and begin the game drive to central Serengeti, where you’ll have an en-route and evening game drive before heading to the tented camp for overnight.

Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

The rocks in the area are home to various animals. After a picnic lunch, drive with an en-route game drive to Ngorongoro, entering through the same gate, and head to Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge for overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

If lucky, you may see the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffaloes. At Magadi Lake, you’ll find water birds like flamingoes, herons, and pelicans. The Lerai Forest hosts baboons, monkeys, elephants, bushbucks, waterbucks, and leopards.
