Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda
Your adventure begins as you arrive at Entebbe International Airport. You’ll be greeted by your guide, who will transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for an overnight stay. Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park (Chimpanzee Trekking)
On day two, you’ll start your journey with a scenic drive to Kibale Forest National Park, one of the best places in the world for chimpanzee trekking. This park, known for its lush rainforest, is home to over 1,500 chimpanzees. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your lodge and rest. In the afternoon, you can take a guided nature walk around the park or enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
The highlight of day three is your chimpanzee trekking experience. Early in the morning, you’ll embark on a guided trek through the forest in search of these fascinating primates. The trek usually lasts between 2-4 hours, depending on where the chimpanzees are located. After observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, you’ll also have the chance to learn more about their behavior and conservation efforts. In the afternoon, you may visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for birdwatching and nature walks.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On day four, after breakfast, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most visited park. The park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and is home to a wide variety of animals, including elephants, lions, hippos, and buffaloes. Enjoy an afternoon game drive where you’ll get the chance to see these animals up close. You’ll spend the night at one of the park’s beautiful lodges, situated near the park’s entrance.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Boat Safari
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You’ll be guided through the park’s savannah to spot the “Big Five” and other wildlife. Afterward, head to the Kazinga Channel for a thrilling boat safari, where you’ll cruise along the waters to see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species. The boat trip offers fantastic photo opportunities. In the evening, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Trekking)
On day six, you’ll drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, renowned for its endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in the world to see mountain gorillas. Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
The most thrilling day of your Uganda safari is here: gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing before setting out to track one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can be challenging, but the experience of encountering these majestic creatures in their natural environment is indescribable. You’ll spend an hour observing the gorillas, learning about their social structure and conservation efforts. Afterward, you’ll return to your lodge to relax, and later, enjoy a celebratory dinner.
Day 8: Return to Entebbe for Departure
After your unforgettable experience in Bwindi, you’ll drive back to Entebbe for your flight home. Depending on your flight time, you can explore Entebbe or relax before heading to the airport for your departure.
