Nature Excursion Safaris

8 Days Tanzania Short Safari and Beach Holidays

Day1: Drive to Tarangire National Park.
Depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. It will take you approximately two hours to reach the park entry gate. Tarangire is well known as the “home of elephants”. The game drive will start from the main gate from where you will spot impalas, giraffes, zebras, etc. Your guide will lead you to the Tarangire River where the abundance of elephants is commonly seen. Proceed with the game drive until the afternoon when you stop for lunch at the picnic site at the top of the Tarangire River. Continue with the afternoon game drive. Later in the afternoon, drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day2: Crater Tour/Serengeti National Park.
Have an early breakfast, proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater and check in at the gate. Thereafter, you’ll descend 600 meters to the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is a self-dependent ecosystem and is home to carnivores, antelopes and herbivores. If lucky, you may see the Big 5 in Ngorongoro – this includes lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. At Magadi Lake, several waterbirds are found including the beautiful flamingoes, herons, pelicans, etc. The Lerai Forest is home to baboons and monkeys, elephants, bushbucks, waterbucks, and leopards. The size of the crater floor is 260 square kilometers. The Munge River is the source of fresh water in the area.
You’ll also find swamps here and can see hippos and grazing animals in the open areas. You’ll have lunch at the picnic site where you can see hippos up close. After lunch, go on an en-route game drive as you ascend the crater and drive to Serengeti.

Day3: Full Day Serengeti Game Drive.
Today you will have a full-day game drive in Central Serengeti to search for the rest of the Big 5 and other animals. Serengeti National Park is a wide park of almost 15,000 square kilometers. Every side of the park has its seasonal visitors, depending on the time of the year and the migration of animals. We stay at Central Serengeti, a popular area because of all its resident animals. Your full-day game drive allows you to view different animals and their habits. You can arrange with your driver-guide to either
have a picnic lunch or a hot lunch back at the camp/Lodge. Continue with your afternoon game drive until the evening when you return to your Lodge/camp for overnight.

Day4: Serengeti Game Drive/Ngorongoro/Karatu.
You will have an early breakfast and then go on a game drive until the afternoon. Serengeti is well-known for its endless plains and the abundance of carnivores such as hyena, lion, leopard, jackal, cheetah, etc. Rocks found in the area are home to different animals like hyrax, lion, and even leopard. In the afternoon, have your picnic lunch and then have an en-route game drive through Ngorongoro area back to your lodge in Karatu town for overnight.

Day5: Lake Manyara National Park/Zanzibar.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. From the entry gate, you will see primates on trees in the green forest. Manyara is small but has its own unique beauty and is known for its tree-climbing lions. The game drive safari will take you to observe giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and, if you’re lucky, lions in trees. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the designated site at the lakeshore. Manyara is a great place for bird watchers, with small to big and colorful birds. In the afternoon, drive to the airport and depart for
Zanzibar.

Day6&7: Relax in Zanzibar.
You have a full day to relax at the stunning beaches or explore the historical sights of Stone Town. Night time lends itself to stop at the night market and taste some of the local specialties. Here you also have several tour options that you can add for an addition fee depending on your preference. There are tours to visit Prison Island and a picnic on the Nakupenda Sandbank, swim with the dolphins, explore Jozani Forest, or visit a spice farm, etc.

Day8: Depart From Zanzibar.
A driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport. Depending on your flight time departure, you may add in another tour for an additional cost before heading to the airport. We can also extend your stay on the island as our tours are fully customizable
