Your 6-day migration safari begins upon arrival in Arusha, Tanzania’s gateway to the Serengeti and other national parks. After meeting your guide, you’ll embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Known for its large elephant herds and towering baobab trees, Tarangire offers a unique safari experience. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive, where you may spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species.
Check-in at your lodge, where you can unwind and enjoy dinner while overlooking the African bush.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park
Spend a full day exploring the wonders of Tarangire National Park. The park is famous for its abundant wildlife, especially elephants, which are often seen near the Tarangire River. In addition to elephants, you may encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards, buffalo, and wildebeest. The landscape is diverse, with acacia woodlands, swamps, and open plains offering a variety of habitats for animals.
After a thrilling day of wildlife viewing, head back to your lodge for a relaxing evening.
Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater
On day three, you will travel to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The drive takes you through lush highlands, offering picturesque views of the Tanzanian countryside. After lunch, descend into the crater floor, where you will embark on an afternoon game drive.
The Ngorongoro Crater is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalo, and cheetahs. Its unique ecosystem makes it one of the best places in Africa to spot the “Big Five.” After a rewarding game drive, return to your lodge situated on the rim of the crater for a tranquil evening.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater and Transfer to Serengeti National Park
Start your day with an early morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater to catch a glimpse of wildlife as they start their day. The crater is particularly known for its large predator population, and you might spot lions hunting or cheetahs on the prowl. After the game drive, head out for a scenic drive to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. As you approach the Serengeti, get ready for an incredible wildlife experience, with vast plains stretching as far as the eye can see.
Arrive at your Serengeti lodge in the evening and enjoy dinner while reflecting on your day.
Day 5: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park (Great Migration)
Today is dedicated to exploring the vast plains of Serengeti National Park, the epicenter of the Great Migration. Depending on the time of year, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the dramatic movement of millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles as they cross rivers and navigate through the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing. This spectacular natural event is one of the most incredible wildlife spectacles on the planet.
During your game drive, you’ll also encounter predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, who often follow the herds. The Serengeti’s diverse ecosystems—from open grasslands to riverine forests—make it a premier safari destination year-round.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive in Serengeti and Return to Arusha
On your final day, enjoy an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, where you can catch the animals at their most active.
