16-Day Kilimanjaro, Safari & Zanzibar Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi. After check-in at your hotel, meet your guide for a briefing about your upcoming Kilimanjaro climb.
Overnight: Moshi.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
After breakfast, drive from Moshi to Machame Gate, approximately 40 minutes to one hour away.
After registration, begin your Mount Kilimanjaro climb through the beautiful rainforest. The hike takes approximately 5–6 hours before reaching Machame Camp.
Overnight: Machame Camp.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp
Continue your ascent towards Shira Camp. The trail passes through changing vegetation and increasingly impressive mountain scenery.
The hike takes approximately 4–5 hours.
Overnight: Shira Camp.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp
After breakfast, continue towards Barranco Camp. Enjoy spectacular views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape.
The hike takes approximately 6–8 hours, with a picnic lunch along the way.
Overnight: Barranco Camp.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Today is a shorter hiking day. Climb the famous Barranco Wall before continuing towards Karanga Camp.
The hike takes approximately 3–4 hours, giving you time to rest and prepare for the next stage of the climb.
Overnight: Karanga Camp.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Continue towards Barafu Camp, the final camp before your summit attempt.
The hike takes approximately 3–4 hours. After arriving at camp, rest and prepare for the midnight summit climb.
Overnight: Barafu Camp.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 7: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Begin your summit attempt around midnight.
Climb towards Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, and aim to reach the summit around sunrise. After enjoying the spectacular views from the summit, begin your descent towards Mweka Camp.
This is a challenging but rewarding day on your Kilimanjaro climb.
Overnight: Mweka Camp.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Arusha
After breakfast, descend to Mweka Gate. After completing the necessary procedures, receive your Kilimanjaro certificate and say goodbye to your mountain crew.
Your vehicle will then transfer you to Arusha for rest and overnight accommodation.
Overnight: Arusha.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 9: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, drive towards Lake Manyara National Park with a packed lunch.
Enjoy a game drive through the park, looking for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos, monkeys, birds and, with luck, the famous tree-climbing lions.
Overnight: Karatu/Lake Manyara area.
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch.
Explore the crater floor, home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, before continuing to Serengeti National Park.
Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp.
Overnight: Serengeti.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 11: Full-Day Serengeti Safari
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti.
Search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and other wildlife.
An optional Serengeti balloon safari can be arranged for an additional cost.
Overnight: Serengeti.
Meals: Full Board.
Day 12: Serengeti to Zanzibar
Enjoy an early morning game drive before returning to camp for breakfast.
After breakfast, transfer to Seronera Airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the afternoon relaxing on the island.
Overnight: Zanzibar.
Day 13: Kizimkazi Dolphin Experience
After breakfast, travel to Kizimkazi for a dolphin experience and explore the beautiful southern coast of Zanzibar.
Later, return to your hotel to relax and enjoy the evening.

Day 14: Stone Town and Spice Tour
Explore the historic streets of Stone Town and discover Zanzibar’s fascinating history and culture.
Continue with a spice tour to learn about the island’s famous spices and tropical plants.

Day 15: Jozani Forest or Beach Relaxation
