Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and Transfer to Amboseli National Park
Your 6-day Kenya safari begins with your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. After clearing immigration, you’ll be greeted by your guide and embark on a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park. Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli National Park
Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park on a game drive. This park is renowned for its open plains and swampy areas, which attract a wide variety of animals. The iconic elephant herds are one of the park’s highlights, often seen with the towering Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. During your game drive, you may also spot lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and numerous antelope species.
Amboseli is also a birdwatcher’s haven, with over 400 bird species, including flamingos, pelicans, and secretary birds. In the evening, return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner with views of the mountain and park.
Day 3: Transfer to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
On day three, you’ll travel to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a private wildlife sanctuary located in the central Kenyan highlands. This conservancy is known for its dedication to wildlife conservation, particularly its efforts to protect rhinos. Ol Pejeta is home to the famous rhino sanctuary, which includes both black and white rhinos.
Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive that includes the opportunity to see the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos. Ol Pejeta also offers unique experiences, including visits to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, where rescued chimpanzees are rehabilitated. You may also choose to visit the Ol Pejeta Observation Centre for an educational session about the conservancy’s conservation efforts.
Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Spend a full day exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where you can enjoy multiple game drives in search of wildlife. The conservancy is home to a diverse range of animals, including giraffes, baboons, zebras, and a variety of bird species. If you’re lucky, you may spot predators such as lions and leopards.
One of the highlights of Ol Pejeta is the opportunity to see Baraka, the blind black rhino, and learn about the incredible conservation efforts taking place here. Ol Pejeta is also a great spot for night game drives, where you can observe nocturnal animals in action.
Day 5: Transfer to Maasai Mara National Reserve
On day five, you will travel to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the most famous wildlife destinations in the world. The Mara is renowned for its vast savannahs, abundant wildlife, and the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles migrate annually.
Upon arrival, check into your lodge and head out on an afternoon game drive to explore the reserve. The Mara is home to the Big Five, and you’re likely to encounter lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and countless antelope species. The expansive landscapes of the Mara offer incredible opportunities for photography.
Day 6: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara and Return to Nairobi
Your final day begins with an early morning game drive in the Maasai Mara. The Mara is famous for its predator-rich environment, and you may get the chance to witness lions hunting, cheetahs sprinting, or hyenas scavenging. If you’re visiting during the Great Migration (typically between July and October), you’ll have the chance to see dramatic river crossings where wildebeest brave the waters of the Mara River in search of new grazing grounds.6 Days Kenya Safari
In the afternoon, you will enjoy a cultural experience with the local Maasai people, learning about their traditions and way of life. Afterward, you’ll begin your journey back to Nairobi, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward flight.
